It's time to grow

I pledge no allegiance to any one land
My life I’d leave for no one folk
I am a child of this our earth
I am a human that’s my birthright

No matter what your colour may be
No matter what your race
No matter which way to your God you pray
No matter what, I’m there for you

I hear you say your God is better
That yours is the only truth
That the others are no better due to the colour of their skin
Or religion, but we are here and we share this world

Come join our hands and reunite
Come sing the song of life
Come feel the love that there is for all
Come hold on to life before it is gone

We came from Africa, one single race
Our paths changed, and we grew
We developed differing cultures and religions
But we are all human, that’s our birthright

We’re brothers and sisters a family of one
There really is no difference
Our blood is the same as is our DNA
It’s time to remember our past

Let hate be a thing of the past
Put behind us all of the wrongs
For only together can we make this work
And it starts with me, one man

My home is a piece of rock floating in space
Two thirds of water it is made of
One third is land, so small and fragile
There’s really no room for hate

It saddens me when I see what we’ve done
And also that what we do
In the name of a God who has never shown his face
It’s time to grow, that’s our birthright…
